Hedgelaying can be enjoyed by all. You don’t need any special skills or experience, your instructor will be with you at all times and all equipment is provided.
Your instructor is Richard Clarke. Richard has over 20 years experience working in forestry and conservation and is a lecturer in Countryside Management.
Hedgelaying activities take place at venues in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. We have access to green spaces and woodlands and if you book an activity with us full location details will be provided.
This course can only go ahead in the winter months (November-March) while the birds are not nesting and after the leaves have fallen from the hedge.
We carry on! We will always carry on as long as it is safe to do so, but we risk assess continually and will halt or postpone a course if we feel it is unsafe to continue. In the event of this happening, we will let you know at the earliest opportunity, arranging either to reschedule at your convenience or to issue a refund (please note that if your party or event is taking place on an external site, we may not be able to refund the site fee if that has been negotiated separatley).
If you decide to cancel due to poor weather after we have risk-assessed it as safe to go ahead, this will be treated as a cancellation and we will not be able to issue a refund. Please get in touch if you have any questions about this.
Yes. Our insurance cover is provided by the National Farmers Union.
You don’t need to bring too much with you.
Being an outdoor activity we continue in all weather even if it is raining (as long as it is safe to do so). So we ask you to dress suitably for the countryside and time of the year.
We recommend you wear warm, old or inexpensive clothes, wellies or old trainers and waterproofs (in the summer please bring suncream and water)
We ask everyone to complete a consent form so we are aware of allergies and medical conditions, as well as providing us with emergency contact details.
Consent forms need to be returned at least 5 days in advance so that we can take in to account of any medical conditions.
Sorry no pets allowed.
We hope we have answered all your questions. For details on bookings, payments and cancellations please see our terms and conditions.
If you need more information please email us firstname.lastname@example.org or contact us on 01885 489104. We will be pleased to help.
